NIACC's Minto earns ICCAC wrestler of week honor
MASON CITY - For the fourth time in his career, NIACC's Christian Minto has been selected as the ICCAC wrestler of the week for the week of Jan. 24-30.
Minto, who is top-ranked at 165 pounds, topped Ellsworth's eighth-ranked Mirzo Khayitov 7-2 in his lone match of the week.
Minto, who is 7-0 in the 2021-22 season, also won the ICCAC wrestler of week award for the week of Dec. 6-12, 2021. Minto won the award for the week of March 1-7 in the 2021 season and won the award for the week of Feb. 10-16 in the 2019-20 season.
Minto is the defending 165-pound national champion and has a career record of 42-1.
NIACC returns to action Wednesday in a dual meet at Iowa Western.
