Trojans fall to Lakers, 37-14
MASON CITY - The NIACC women's wrestling team dropped a 37-14 decision to Iowa Lakes Wednesday night in an ICCAC dual meet in the NIACC recreation center.
Iowa Lakes won five of the eight contested matches.
NIACC (1-1 in duals) picked up wins from Lily Powell (124 pounds), Geraldine Honore (145 pounds) and Kenzi Jackson (207 pounds).
Powell (4-2 with two technical falls) gained a 10-0 technical fall over the Lakers' Keira Hessenius at 124 pounds.
At 145 pounds, Honore (4-2 with two technical falls) picked up a 12-0 technical fall over Iowa Lakes' Nina Aceves.
At 207 pounds, Jackson (4-1 with one fall and one technical fall) pinned the Lakers' Soledad Luchman in 36 seconds.
NIACC returns to action Dec. 3 in a league dual meet at defending national champion Indian Hills. Match time in Centerville is slated for 6 p.m.
