Trojans send 14 to NJCAA national invite
COUNCIL BLUFFS - NIACC will send 14 wrestlers to the NJCAA women's national invitational on Friday and Saturday at the Mid-America Center.
The opening round of the national invitational begins at 9 a.m. on Friday.
Competing at the national invitational for the Trojans will be Addyson Brown (103), Jessika Ausborn (117), Anna Stene (124), Lily Powell (124), Brooklyn Burke (131), Hannah Rosenberg (131), Olivia Brown (138), Emalee Douglas (138), Geraldine Honore (145), Kallie Gibbons (145), Keira Suro (160), Maria Ramirez (160), Kenzi Jackson (207) and Ayanna Omollo (235).
NIACC placed fourth at the ICCAC tournament in February with 54 points. Iowa Central was the team champion with 198 points and Iowa Western was second with 124 points.
At the ICCAC tournament, Olivia Brown placed third at 138 pounds and Gibbons placed third at 145 pounds.
Honore enters this weekend's invitational ranked fifth at 145 pounds.
This is the fourth season the NIACC women's wrestling team has competed at the national invitational tournament. The Trojans placed eighth in 2023, 10th in 2024 and 15th in 2025.
