NIACC women place 7th at BVU Fall Invite
STORM LAKE - The NIACC women's golf team placed seventh in the 2025 Buena Vista University Fall Invitational on Sunday with rounds of 368-356 - 724.
Simpson was the team champion with a two-day total of 331-335 - 666 and host Buena Vista was second with a 335-333 - 668.
"We played much better (Sunday) after we had a chance to see the course (Saturday)," NIACC coach Chris Frenz said.
NIACC was led by freshman Avery Knutsen with rounds of 89-83 - 172 and sophomore Addy Boell shot 92-86 - 178.
"Avery Knutsen and Addy Boell put solid rounds together (Sunday)," Frenz said. "They've played well in the last couple of tournaments."
NIACC freshman Emma Topp shot 95-90 - 185, sophomore Ashlyn Berven shot 99-97 - 196 and sophomore Danielle Randick shot 92-107 - 199.
"Emma Topp had it going pretty well, too, and she was disappointed with her outcome but she just keeps improving every time out.
"Ashlyn Berven, I felt played better than her score indicated (Sunday) and I saw some good things there. Dani had a nice day (Saturday) but just couldn't get anything going (Sunday), unfortunately."
