Trojans move to 4-0
BOONE - The NIACC men's basketball team topped Moraine Valley CC 101-78 Saturday on the second day of the DMACC Classic.
NIACC, which is 4-0 for the first time since the 2019-20 season, received 18 points each from sophomores Jacob Martin and Lance Helming. Freshman TJ Cusciotta was also in double figures with 17 points.
It was the first time the Trojans have scored at least 100 points in a game since they topped the Waldorf University Junior Varsity 117-84 on Jan. 17, 2025.
NIACC led 48-43 at the half and outscored Moraine Valley 53-35 in the second 20 minutes.
Also for the Trojans, sophomore Cameron Reigard scored eight points with seven assists and six rebounds. Martin also had five rebounds and five assists.
Helming led the Trojans with seven rebounds and Cusciotta collected six rebounds.
NIACC returns to action Thursday at home against the Waldorf University Junior Varsity. Game time in the NIACC gym is slated for 7:30 p.m.
