Balanced scoring powers Trojans, 69-66
MASON CITY - The NIACC men's basketball team put four players in double figures to claim a 69-66 victory over Iowa Lakes Saturday afternoon in an ICCAC contest in the NIACC gym.
Sophomore Joseph Fitch scored 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead the Trojans, who improved to 8-5 overall and 2-3 in the ICCAC.
Also in double figures for the Trojans were sophomore Lance Helming with 12 points and sophomore Jacob Martin and freshman TJ Cusciotta both scored 10 points.
NIACC's RJ Martin, who scored four points, grabbed eight rebounds and blocked two shots. Helming collected five rebounds.
Iowa Lakes (2-11, 0-4) led 34-28 at the half, but the Trojans outscored the Lakers 41-32 in the second 20 minutes to claim the narrow 3-point victory.
NIACC wraps up the 2025 portion of its schedule with a non-league game Wednesday at Marshalltown CC. Game time in Marshalltown is slated for 7:30 p.m.
NIACC topped Marshalltown CC 68-60 on Nov. 22 in Mason City.
