NIACC falls to No. 24 Reivers in OT, 76-72
COUNCIL BLUFFS - The NIACC men's basketball team dropped a 76-72 overtime decision to No. 24 Iowa Western Saturday afternoon in an ICCAC contest.
Iowa Western (11-0 overall, 2-0 in ICCAC) led 32-26 at the half, but NIACC outscored the Reivers 41-35 in the second 20 minutes to force the extra five-minute session. The Reivers outscored the Trojans 9-5 in overtime to claim the four-point league victory.
The overtime contest was the first for the Trojans since they topped Northeast CC 98-97 on Dec. 7, 2024.
Nate Parras led four Iowa Western players in double figures with 17 points. Parras also had eight rebounds, two steals and one blocked shot.
NIACC (7-4, 1-2) was led by sophomore guard Jacob Martin with 26 points. Martin also had seven assists, six rebounds and three steals.
Also for the Trojans, freshman TJ Cusciotta scored 10 points and sophomore Cameron Reigard scored nine points. RJ Mitchell scored eight points and collected a game-high 12 rebounds.
NIACC returns to action Wednesday at home against top-ranked Ellsworth (12-0, 3-0). Game time in the NIACC gym is slated for 7:30 p.m.
