Trojans fall to Comets, 66-61
MASON CITY - The NIACC men's basketball team dropped a 66-61 decision to Western Iowa Tech Wednesday night in an ICCAC contest in the NIACC gym.
Western Iowa Tech (8-14 overall, 4-9 in the ICCAC) led 33-31 at the half and outscored the Trojans 33-30 in the second 20 minutes to claim the five-point league victory.
Western Iowa Tech was led by Caleb Kawela with 22 points and 12 rebounds. Isaiah Lloyd was next in line for the Comets with 20 points.
NIACC (12-10, 5-8) was led by sophomore Lance Helming with 18 points and nine rebounds. Sophomore Cameron Reigard scored 16 points with nine rebounds, five assists and one steal.
NIACC's Kam'ron Solomon scored eight points, Jacob Martin scored seven points and Joseph Fitch scored six points.
NIACC returns to action Saturday in an ICCAC contest at Northeast CC. Game time in Norfolk, Neb. is set for 3 p.m.
