Trojans top Marshalltown CC, 68-60
MASON CITY - The NIACC men's basketball team topped Marshalltown CC 68-60 Saturday afternoon in a non-league contest in the NIACC gym.
NIACC (6-1 overall) outscored the Tigers 35-27 in the second half to claim the eight-point victory. The game was tied 33-33 at the half.
Freshman RJ Mitchell led the Trojans with 17 points and nine rebounds. Sophomore Cameron Reigard came off the bench to score 14 points and collect five rebounds.
NIACc sophomore Lance Helming scored eight points with seven rebounds, two assists, one steal and one blocked shot.
Sophomore guard Jacob Martin led the Trojans with seven assists. NIACC's Bryson Robinson scored eight points with three rebounds, two assists and one blocked shot.
NIACC opens ICCAC play on Tuesday at Western Iowa Tech. Game time in Sioux City is slated for 7:30 p.m.
