Helming powers Trojans, 94-66

MARSHALLTOWN - Sophomore Lance Helming scored a season-high 21 points to lead the NIACC men's basketball team to a 94-66 victory over Marshalltown CC Wednesday night.
Helming, who prepped at Lake Mills, was 8 of 12 from the field, including a 5 of 7 performance from three-point range. Helming also had five rebounds, two assists and one steal.
Also for the Trojans, sophomore guard Cameron Reigard recorded a double/double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Reigard also contributed five assists.
It was Reigard's second career double/double. He also recorded a double/double with 18 points and 10 rebounds against DCTC on Nov. 2, 2024.
NIACC's Joseph Fitch had a perfect game shooting the basketball scoring 12 points. The sophomore was 5 of 5 from the field and 2 of 2 from the free-throw line.
NIACC's Kam'ron Solomon also reached double figures with 10 points.
NIACC (9-5 overall) returns to action Jan. 3 in an ICCAC contest at Central CC-Columbus. Game time in Columbus, Neb. is slated for 3 p.m.
