COLUMBUS, Neb. - Sophomore point guard Jacob Martin scored 26 points to lead the NIACC men's basketball team to a 81-72 victory over Central CC-Columbus Saturday afternoon in an ICCAC contest.
Martin, who also had six assists, was 8 of 12 from the field and 9 of 13 from the free-throw line. It was the sixth time this season that Martin has scored at least 20 points.
Central CC-Columbus led 39-31 at the half, but the Trojans outscored Central CC-Columbus 50-33 in the second 20 minutes.
Also for the Trojans, freshman TJ Cusciotta scored 19 points and sophomore Cameron Reigard scored 16 points.
Cusciotta and sophomore Lance Helming led the Trojans with seven rebounds each. Reigard grabbed six rebounds and Bryson Robinson had five rebounds.
NIACC (10-5 overall, 3-3 in the ICCAC) returns to action Wednesday at home against No. 2 DMACC. Game time in the NIACC gym is slated for 7:30 p,m.
