Trojans fall to No. 5 Kirkwood, 99-83
MASON CITY - The NIACc men's basketball team dropped a 99-83 decision to No. 5 Kirkwood in an ICCAC contest in the NIACC gym.
Kirkwood (8-2 overall, 1-1 in the ICCAC) led 46-40 at the half and outscored the Trojans 53-43 in the second 20 minutes to claim the 16-point victory. Tyler Netolicky scored 21 points with 16 rebounds to lead the Eagles.
Manasse Kasongo came off the bench to score 13 points for the Eagles.
Sophomore guard Cameron Reigard led the Trojans with a career-high 26 points. Reigard's previous career high was 22 points against the Grand View University Junior Varsity on Nov. 16, 2024.
Reigard connected on five 3-point goals and was seven of eight from the free-throw line. Reigard also had five steals, which matched his career high, three assists and three rebounds.
Sophomore guard Jacob Martin scored 17 points and sophomore forward Lance Helming scored 10 points. Helming led the Trojans with eight rebounds.
NIACC freshman TJ Cusciotta, who scored six points, had five rebounds and five assists.
NIACC (7-3, 1-1) returns to action Saturday at No. 24 Iowa Western. Game time in Council Bluffs is slated for 3 p.m.
