NIACC women ranked 9th in preseason poll
MASON CITY - The NIACC women's basketball team is ranked ninth in the NJCAA Division II preseason poll released Monday.
Defending national champion Kansas City (Kan.) CC is ranked No. 1.
Kirkwood is ranked second in the preseason poll.
The NIACC women were 10th in the preseason poll in the 2018-19 season and were ranked second in the final four polls of the the 2018-19 regular season.
NIACC returns two starters (Autam Mendez and Kelcie Hale) from last year's team that won the NJCAA Region XI tournament and advanced to the national tournament.
NIACC opens the regular season Nov. 1-2 at the Dale Howard Classic in Iowa Falls.
