No. 3 NIACC women move to 9-0
MASON CITY - The No. 3 NIACC women's basketball team improved to 9-0 with a 80-60 victory over Central CC on Sunday at the NIACC Thanksgiving Challenge.
NIACC, which has won 23 straight home games dating back to the 2017-18 season, was led by freshman Sierra Morrow, who scored 21 points with 11 rebounds, four blocks and two steals.
It was the second straight double/double for Morrow and her third of the season. Morrow scored 18 points with 11 rebounds in Saturday's win over the Grand View Junior Varsity.
NIACC also received 11 points from freshman Sydney Wetlaufer and 10 points from Allie Negen.
Sophomore Autam Mendez scored six points, including one three-point goal. Mendez now has 100 career three-point goals and is the first player in NIACC women's basketball history with 600 points, 300 rebounds and 100 three-point goals.
NIACC opens ICCAC play at Southwestern on Wednesday.
