No. 3 NIACC women roll, 92-39
FORT DODGE - The No. 3 NIACC women's basketball team cruised to a 92-39 victory over Central CC (Neb.) on Friday afternoon at the Great Western Shootout on the Iowa Central campus.
NIACC (6-0 overall) led 46-14 at the half and held a 68-33 lead after three quarters.
The Lady Trojans are off to their best start since the 2017-18 team started 9-0.
Sophomore Autam Mendez led NIACC with 24 points, including seven 3-point goals.
Also for the Lady Trojans, freshman Shinaana Secody scored 14 points with six rebounds, two assists and two steals. Sierra Lynch and Sierra Morrow both scored nine points and Kelcie Hale scored eight points.
NIACC connected on a season-high 17 3-point goals in Friday's victory.
NIACC returns to action Saturday at the Great Western Shootout. The Lady Trojans face Northeast CC at noon.
