NIACC's Hoeft places 2nd in 60 hurdles
CEDAR FALLS - NIACC's Lynn Hoeft placed second in the 60-meter hurdles in the junior college division Thursday at the University of Northern Iowa Jack Jennett Open.
Hoeft placed second out of five runners in a time of 10.54 seconds.
NIACC was third in the team standings with 37 points. Iowa Central was the women's team champion with 111 points and Hawkeye CC was second with 110 points.
NIACC's Sarah Bertry placed fourth in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:28.28, which ranks fifth on the school's all-time list.
In the 60, Odeleine Daugherty was seventh (8.81).
In the 200, Daugherty was ninth (30.76) and Stanita Zulu was 11th (33.05).
In the mile, Whitney Martin was third (6:13.66), Lauren Kern was fourth (6:34.26) and Mercy Melly was sixth (7:05.13).
In the 4x400-meter relay, NIACC was sixth (4:55.60).
