NIACC wins 4x400 at Waldorf Invite
HUMBOLDT - The NIACC women won the 4x400-meter relay Saturday at the Waldorf Winter Invitational in a time of 4 minutes, 42.61 seconds.
The Lady Trojans ran Sarah Bertry, Whitney Martin, Maisie Hoskins and Lauren Kern. The time of 4:42.61 was a season-best for he Lady Trojans.
Bertry recorded a personal-best time of 2 minutes, 27.25 in the 800-meter run with her third-place finish.
Bertry's time in the 800 Saturday is the fourth-fastest 800 time in school history. Bertry's previous personal best time in the 800 was 2:28.28 on Jan. 21.
Also in the 800, NIACC sophomore Whitney Martin placed third (2:33.95) and Maisie Hoskins was 10th (2:44.15).
NIACC also received third-place finishes Saturday from Lynn Hoeft in the 60 hurdles (10.70) and Cinnamon Evans in the weight throw (personal best 12.09 meters/39 feet, 8 inches).
Also in the weight throw, NIACC's Brenna Paulson placed 10th with a toss of 10.36 meters (34 feet, 0 inches).
NIACC's Lauren Kern placed sixth in the mile in a personal-best time of 6:06.59.
In the 200, Odeleine Daugherty was fifth (29.46) and Hoeft was eighth (30.96).
In the shot put, Paulsen was eighth (8.79 meters/28-10 1/2) and Evans was ninth (8.77 meters/28-9 3/4).
