NIACC's Bertry places 2nd in 800 at Viking Classic
DES MOINES - NIACC freshman Sarah Bertry placed in the 800-meter run in a time of 2 minutes, 26.35 seconds on Friday at the Grand View Viking Classic.
NIACC sophomore Whitney Martin was third in the 800 in a time of 2:28.09.
Bertry's time of 2:26.35 ranks fourth on NIACC's all-time outdoor 800 list and Martin's time of 2:28.09 ranks sixth on the school's all-time best list.
NIACC's Mercy Melly was third in the 5,000-meter run in a time of 22:37.74. Halsie Keltner was fourth in the javelin with a toss of 29.07 meters.
Also earning top eight finishes for the Lady Trojans on Friday were Odeleine Daugherty (7th in the 100 in 13.70), Lynn Hoeft (8th in 100 hurdles in 17.14) and Brenna Paulson in the hammer (7th in 39.69 meters).
