NIACC's Bertry wins 2 events at Warrick Invite
HUMBOLDT - NIACC freshman Sarah Bertry won two events at Saturday's Waldorf Warrick Invitational at the Humboldt Recreation Center.
Bertry won the 1,000-meter run in a time of 3 minutes, 12.71 seconds and won the mile in a time of 5:26.98. Bertry's time in the 1,000 qualified her for the NJCAA Division I national meet and currently is this third fastest 1,000 time amongst NJCAA Division I female runners.
Bertry's time of 3:12.71 ranks fourth on NIACC's all-time 1,000-list and her time of 5:26.98 in the mile is the third fastest in school history.
Also for the NIACC women, sophomore Whitney Martin was fourth in the 800 (2:42.72). Lauren Kern was sixth (2:44.66) and Maisie Hoskins was 10th (2:47.30).
In the shot put, Cinnamon Evans was fifth (personal best 9.80 meters) and Brenna Paulson was eighth (9.31 meters).
In the weight throw, Paulson was sixth (personal best 11.48 meters) and Evans was seventh (11.40 meters).
The Lady Trojans placed fourth in the 4x400-meter relay in a time of 4:47.29.
