NIACC's Paulson earns pair of 5th place finishes
COUNCIL BLUFFS - NIACC's Brenna Paulson picked up a pair of fifth place finishes in throwing events Satrurday at the NJCAA Region XI championships.
Paulson was fifth in the hammer with a toss of 41.16 meters and was also fifth in the javelin with a throw of 28.92 meters.
Paulson's throw of 41.16 meters is a personal best and ranks second on the school's all-time hammer list. Paulson's previous best toss was 39.96 at the Waldorf Spring Opener on April 1.
Also in the javelin, NIACC's Halsie Keltner placed fourth with a throw of 32.24 meters. Cinnamon Evans was 10th in the javelin (17.37 meters)
Also in the hammer, Evans was ninth (34.68 meters).
In the 100-meter hurdles prelims, NIACC's Lynn Hoeft qualified for Sunday's finals in a time of 17.39 seconds.
