"It was a pretty sold day for the women (Friday)," NIACC coach Chris Frenz said, "but they're disappointed because the feel it should be a lot better.
"That's good that they feel that way, so they keep working hard to better themselves."
The second round of the 36-hole tournament is slated to start at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
After Saturday, the Lady Trojans host the NIACC Spring Invitational on Thursday, play at the Hawkeye CC Spring Invitational on April 15 and the Mustang Spring Invitational on April 18.
"We have a number of tournaments next week and a half and then it's on to the regional tournament," Frenz said. "They are very determined to go lower and we'll do our best to get there (Saturday)."
