Lunning leads NIACC at Mustang Spring Invite
MARION - Sophomore Thea Lunning shot a 91 and tied for 10th in the individual medalist competition to lead the NIACC women's golf team at the Mount Mercy Mustang Spring Invitational on Sunday.
NIACC, which shot a 404 as a team and placed sixth, also received a 95 from Ashley Voves, a 107 from Hailey Panos and a 111 from Jenna Paulus.
Host Mount Mercy won the team title with a 340. St. Ambrose was second with a 357 and Luther College was third with a 360.
"(Sunday) just wasn't our day," NIACC coach Chris Frenz said. "We'll need to have short term memory and move on.
"We've had a nice week and three tournaments in four days. I guarantee you that we'll be ready for regionals next weekend."
NIACC returns to action Saturday and Sunday at the NJCAA Region XI tournament at the Otter Creek Golf Course in Ankeny.
