NIACC's Lunning ties for 6th at Iowa Central Spring Invite
FORT DODGE - NIACC sophomore Thea Lunning tied for sixth in the individual medalist competition at the Iowa Central Spring Invitational on Saturday at the Fort Dodge Country Club.
Lunning shot rounds of 83-81 - 164.
"Thea Lunning got it going this weekend after a little shaky start," NIACC coach Chris Frenz said, "and she's starting to get into form with regionals just two weeks away."
Also for the Lady Trojans, who placed fourth with rounds of 365-361 - 726, Hailey Panos placed 13th with a 89-92 - 181. Ashley Voves shot 93-93 - 186, Abby Murray shot 100-95 - 195 and Jenna Paulus shot 114-110 - 224.
"Hailey Panos struggled a little (Saturday), but her game is solid. She just didn't have it (Saturday)," Frenz said. "Ashley Voves has been trying to find her swing and there were glimpses out there this weekend. She just needs to remain positive and it will happen.
"Abby Murray gives it all she has every time out and her 95 (Saturday) was good in cold, windy conditions. Jenna Paulus is continuing to improve on these difficult courses."
NIACC returns to action Thursday at the NIACC Spring Invitational at the Mason City Country Club.
