NIACC's Chigudu places 8th in 60
MARYVILLE, Mo. - NIACC's Tinashe Chigudu placed eighth in the 60-meter dash in a time of 7.00 seconds at the Mel Tjeerdsma Classic on the Northwest Missouri State campus on Saturday.
The time of 7.00 by Chigudu ranks second on NIACC's all-time best list in the 60. The school record is held by Deon Polk, who clocked a 6.89 in 2014.
Chigudu also placed 14th in the 200 in a personal best time of 22.52, which also ranks second on the school's all-time best list. The school record in the 200 is 22.36 by Gawain Gray in 2011.
Also for the Trojans on Saturday, Kameron Glasper was 15th in the shot put with a toss of 32 feet, 3 inches (9.85 meters) and Randry Mugisha was 15th in the weight throw with a toss of 38-2 (11.67 meters).
In the 400, Walker Sobolik was 18th in 52.95 and Gavin Reicks was 20th (53.12).
In the 60, Angelo Jackson placed 41st in 7.68.
NIACC was 12th in the 4x400-meter relay in a time of 3:39.94. The Trojans ran Chigudu, Sobolik, Reicks and Jackson.
NIACC returns to action Thursday at the University of Northern Iowa Jack Jennett Open.
