NIACC sets two school records at national meet
LEVELLAND, Texas - NIACC freshman Melvin Kipkemboi placed sixth in the 10,000-meter run Tuesday night at the NJCAA Division I national meet.
Kipkemboi earned his sixth-place finish in a school-record time of 31 minutes, 50.99 seconds. Kipkemboi broke the old school mark of 32:12.64 by Jacob Day at the 2016 national meet.
Kipkemboi's previous personal best in the 10K was 32:21.71 on April 17 at the Mount Mercy Mustang Open.
On Wednesday, NIACC's Tinashe Chigudu broke his old school record in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.59, good for 19th place. Chigudu's previous personal best was 10.63 at the Grand View Viking Relays on March 26.
