NIACC athletes earn USTFCCCA all-American honors
MASON CITY - Members of the NIACC men's and women's track and field teams earned USTFCCCA all-American honors for their performances last weekend at the NJCAA Division I national indoor championships in Pittsburg, Kan.
On the men's side, NIACC's Melvin Kipkemboi was a USTFCCCA all-American in the 3,000-meter run and the 5,000-meter run. Kipkemboi placed seventh in the 3,000 (8:36.85) and was third in the 5,000 (14:59.88).
NIACC's Tinashe Chigudu placed eighth in the 60-meter dash (6.91 seconds).
On the women's side, NIACC's Sarah Bertry placed sixth in the 1,000 in a time of 3:07.16 and the Lady Trojans' Cinnamon Evans was seventh in the weight throw with a toss of 14.34 meters.
USTFCCCA honors the top eight placewinners in each event.
