NIACC's Correia places 2nd in 800 at Viking Classic
DES MOINES - NIACC's Vicente Correia placed second in the 800-meter run Friday at the Viking Classic in a time of 1 minute, 58.69 seconds.
Also in the 800, NIACC's Melvin Kipkemboi was third in 1:59.67 and Pudens Kipkosgei was fifth in 2:00.49.
Correia's time of 1:58.69 ranks 10th on NIACC's all-time list in the outdoor 800.
NIACC's Marcel Smith placed fifth in the high jump (1.75 meters).
Other top eight finishes for the Trojans on Friday were Randry Mugisha in the javelin (7th in 35.62 meters), Angelo Jackson (8th in the 100 in 11.60), Stephen Ringo (8th in the 1,500 in 4:23.52), Angelo Jackson (8th in the high jump in 1.65 meters), Clarence Lee-Green (8th in the long jump in 5.92 meters),
