NIACC's Chigudu places 8th in 60 at nationals
PITTSBURG, Kan. - NIACC sophomore Tinashe Chigudu placed eighth in the 60-meter dash finals Saturday at the NJCAA Division I national track and field meet.
Iowa Central's Dashinelle Dyer won the 60 in a time of 6.70 seconds. Chigudu was eighth in 6.91.
On Friday, Chigudu set school records in the 60 (6.76) and 200 (22.11).
In the 60 prelims on Friday, Chigudu broke his old school mark of 6.87 set earlier this season at the Waldorf Winter Invitational.
In the 200 prelims on Friday, Chigudu had the 23rd fastest time as he broke the 10-year old school mark of 22.36 held by Gawain Gray set at the NJCAA Region XI meet on Feb. 18, 2011.
NIACC is in 16th place with nine team points.
