NIACC places 3rd in 4x800
COUNCIL BLUFFS - The NIACC men's 4x800-meter relay placed third at the NJCAA Region XI championships on Saturday.
The NIACC foursome of Richard Marcoux, Vicente Correia, Pudens Kipkosgei and Melvin Kipkemboi earned its third-place finish in a time of 8 minutes, 4.92 seconds.
Also for the NIACC men on Saturday, Randry Mugisha placed seventh in the javelin with a toss of 36.66 meters and Kameron Glasper placed ninth in the hammer throw with a toss of 35.85 meters.
NIACC's Tinashe Chigudu qualified for Sunday's finals in the 100-meter dash in a time of 10.66, which is the fifth fastest qualifying time.
In the 200, Chigudu placed 13th in a time of 21.74 and Titus Jackson was 14th in 21.84. Chigudu's time now ranks second on NIACC's all-time outdoor 200 list and Jackson's time ranks third.
