NIACC's DMR team qualifies for nationals
BROOKINGS, S.D. - The NIACC men's distance medley relay team qualified for that NJCAA Division I national meet with its performance on Friday night at the South Dakota State University Indoor Classic.
NIACC placed fourth in the distance medley relay in a time of 10:32.71, which met the NJCAA national qualifying standards. The Trojans ran Richard Marcoux, John Hunt, Christian Rodriguez and Melvin Kipkemboi.
The NJCAA Division I national indoor track and field meet is set for March 3-5 in Pittsburg, Kan.
Dordt won the DMR on Friday in a time of 10:01.64.
Also Friday for the Trojans, Alfred Kiptoo was 51st in the 3,000-meter run in a time of 9:30.79.
In the women's 3K, NIACC's Brianna Ross was 50th (13:07.02).
The second day of the SDSU Indoor Classic is set for Saturday starting at 11 a.m.
