Trojans place 6th at Waldorf Fall Invite
ALBERT LEA, Minn. - The NIACC men's golf B squad placed sixth at the Waldorf University Fall Invitational on Sunday at the Wedgewood Cove Golf Course.
The Trojans placed sixth with a team score of 315. The NIACC C team was seventh with a round of 317.
Host Waldorf University and the Viterbo B squad tied for first with rounds of 297. Graceland was third with a team score of 299.
Sophomore Ian Roske led the Trojan B team with a round of 77, which tied for 15th in the individual medalist competition. It was the third round in the 70s this fall for Roske.
"Ian Roske posted a solid round (Sunday)," NIACC assistant coach JJ Wickman said. "He maintained a great attitude and really wants to keep up the strong play (Monday)."
Also for the Trojans B team, sophomore Drew DeGabriele shot 79, freshman Austin Stene shot 79, freshman Cade Dillavou shot 80 and freshman Nolan Reser shot 82.
For the Trojan C team, sophomore Gavin Anderson shot 79, sophomore Kyler Glenn shot 79, freshman Noah Honn shot 79, freshman Isaac Houdek shot 80 and sophomore Brody Frayne shot 86.
"Sophomores like Drew DeGabriele, Gavin Anderson and Kyler Glenn benefited from their experience by gritting it out when things got tough," Wickman said. "Freshman Austin Stene and Noah Honn showed promise and should improve (Monday)."
NIACC returns to action Monday at the Waldorf University Fall Challenge at the Rice Lake Golf and Country Club in Lake Mills.
