No. 4 NIACC baseball team hosts North Plains District
MASON CITY - The No. 4 NIACC baseball team hosts Dakota County Technical College at 1 p.m. Saturday in a doubleheader in the NJCAA North Plains District Division II tournament.
The winner of the North Plains District advances to the NJCAA Division II World Series in Enid, Okla., May 28-June 4.
If necessary, a single game would be played at noon on Sunday.
NIACC (45-13) advanced to its third North Plains district tournament in three years by winning the NJCAA Region XI tournament on Monday in Waterloo. The Trojans topped Southeastern 16-3 in the regional title game.
NIACC also advanced to the NJCAA Division II World Series in 2013 and 2015.
DCTC qualified for the North Plains tournament with a 3-2 win over Southeast CC of Nebraska in its regional final.
