ENID, Okla. — Northern Oklahoma College-Enid used a four-run sixth and five-run seventh to work its way past No. 13 NIACC 9-6 Monday in a nine-inning game.
"It's execution in all phases," NIACC coach Travis Hergert said. "Tony (Grabowske) was cruising with two outs in the sixth and had a four-pitch walk and then it just became a lack of execution in pitches and defensively."
The Jets finished with two home runs, including a grand slam in the bottom of the seventh.
Grabowske took the loss for NIACC, striking out five and walking one in six innings.
Malique Ziegler and Robbie Glendinning, who moved up to fourth on NIACC's all-time hit list, each homered and doubled for the Trojans (10-3) and Troy Bullingham added a double. Ziegler finished the contest with three RBIs while Glendinning drove in a pair.
"We've got to do a better job with runner in scoring position with less than two outs," Hergert said. "There were opportunities early in the game where one hit could've put it out of reach."
NIACC travels to Rose State College today for a doubleheader.
