NIACC's Thurlby earns NJCAA all-American honors

MASON CITY - NIACC's Chloe Thurlby earned third-team NJCAA Division II all-American honors as a pitcher.
Thurlby, a freshman left-hander from Bondurant, is the first pitcher in school history to earn NJCAA all-American honors. She is the fifth softball player in school history to earn NJCAA all-American honors.
Before Thurlby, the last players to earn NJCAA all-American honors were Katy Olive (first-team infield) and Madisyn Kelley (second-team catcher) in the 2024 season.
Thurlby was 23-12 with a 2.68 earned run average in the 2026 season. She had a single-seascon school record 228 strikeouts with 61 walks in 209 1/3 innings pitched.
The 23 wins by Thurlby, who was a first-team all-NJCAA Region 11 selection, ranks second on the school's all-time single season list. The school's single-season wins leader his hall of famer Jennifer Spencer, who was 28-8 in 1994.
A total of nine ICCAC players earned NJCAA Division II all-American honors, including five to the first-team.
First-team ICCAC selections were pitchers Kierra Jungers (DMACC) and Lilly Trewin (Kirkwood), catcher Mischa Reiners (Kirkwood), infielder Breckin De La Rosa (Kirkwood) and outfielder Macee Reiling (DMACC).
Iowa Central infielder Natalie Rasmussen was a second-team all-American selection and DMACC's Morgan Neuroth and Mackenzie Muhler were third-team infield selections.
