MASON CITY - The NIACC softball team swept Central CC-Columbus in an ICCAC twinbill Saturday afternoon on the NIACC campus.
NIACC (36-21 overall, 21-13 in the ICCAC) won the first game 11-4 and won the second game 7-1.
In the first game, freshman left-hander Chloe Thurlby gained the win in the circle. She struck out six and allowed one run.
NIACC received three-run home runs from Addie Rhoades and Claire Lodge and a solo home run from Kennedi McGarvey.
Rhoades, Lodge, McGarvey, Katie Riesselman and Emma Wall all had two hits for the Trojans.
In the second game, JoAnna Wallace drove in four of the Trojans' seven runs. She was 3 for 3, including a double and home run.
NIACC's Ally Wall hit a 2-run home run and also gained the win in the circlle. She scattered six hits and one run in seven innings of work.
Also for the Trojans in game two, Emma Wall was 2 for 4, including a double and triple. Rhoades was 2 for 3, including two doubles.
NIACC returns to action Sunday at home against Northeast CC in a league doubleheader on sophomore day on the NIACC campus. The first game is slated to start at 1 p.m.
