Trojans fall to No. 2 Eagles
CEDAR RAPIDS - The NIACC volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to No. 2 Kirkwood on Wednesday in an ICCAC contest.
The Eagles (24-1 overall, 9-0 in ICCAC) won 25-9, 25-12, 25-10.
"We simply didn't execute our game plan (Wednesday)," NIACC coach Chris Brandt said. "We are disappointed in the result but need to learn from this oppurtunity as we prepare for a very challenging weekend."
NIACC sophomore Hannah Brinkman had six kills, one ace serve and one block.
NIACC sophomore Kenedee Frayne had eight assists and two kills and freshman Kendal VanMinsel had five assists. Freshman Alva Fraenkel had 13 digs.
NIACC's Kinsey Anderson had five digs and two ace serves, Bailey Dagestad had two kills, Jocelynn Coleman had three kills, Megan Tobin had two kills and Carissa Timmerman had three digs.
NIACC (12-13, 3-6) returns to action Friday and Saturday at the Iowa Central Tournament in Fort Dodge.
