Trojans fall to Ellsworth, 3-0
IOWA FALLS - The NIACC volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Ellsworth Thursday in an ICCAC contest.
Ellsworth won 25-17, 25-20, 25-20.
"We really didn't play like the confident, strong, capable women that we know," NIACC coach Chris Brandt said. "We had a solid game plan, but we didn't execute so the only choice we have is to learn and move on."
NIACC's Jocelynn Coleman, Emma Miller and Megan Tobin all had six kills. Coleman had three digs, Miller had four digs and a block and Tobin had two digs and two blocks.
NIACC's Bailey Dagestad had five kills, Kinsey Anderson had four digs and Kenedee Frayne had 13 assists, four digs and one ace serve. The Trojans' Brielle Volker had six kills and 14 digs and Kendal VanMinsel had 11 assists and three digs.
NIACC's Hannah Brinkman had four kills and four blocks and Carissa Timmerman had seven digs.
NIACC (10-11 overall, 2-5 in the ICCAC) returns to action Saturday at the Rock Valley Tournament in Rockford, Ill. The Trojans face Harper College and host Rock Valley College.
