NIACC's Brinkman earns second-team all-region honors
MASON CITY - NIACC sophomore Hannah Brinkman earned second-team ICCAC all-region volleyball honors.
Also for the Trojans, freshman Jocelynn Coleman was a third-team all-region selection and sophomore Megan Tobin was an honorable mention all-region selection.
Brinkman had 248 kills, 93 blocks and 35 ace serves during her sophomore campaign. Brinkman had 459 career kills (18th on the school's career kills list) and 154 career blocks (seventh on the school's career blocks list).
Coleman had 320 kills, which ranks 17th on the school's all-time single-season kills list. She also had 57 blocks.
Tobin had 319 kills, which ranks 18th on the school's all-time single-season list with 79 blocks. Tobin ranks 12th on the school's career kills list with 564 and ranks 13th on the school's career blocks list with 129.
The regional player of the year was Iowa Central's Talya Sampson, the regional freshman of the year was Kirkwood's Carly Wazac and the regional coach of the year was Iowa Central's Sara Horn.
