No. 13 NIACC women begin tourney trek tonight
MASON CITY - The No. 13 NIACC women's basketball team opens play in the NJCAA Region XI tournament at home tonight against Southwestern.
Game time is set for 5:30 p.m. in the NIACC gym.
NIACC (19-10 overall) earned the No. 2 seed for the regional tournament with an 11-3 mark in the ICCAC. The Lady Trojans swept the season series against Southwestern - winning 97-53 and 69-57.
NIACC has won nine straight contests against Southwestern.
Sophomore Savannah Lentz averages 14.2 points per game to lead the Lady Trojans. Sophomore Trudy Peterson averages 13.5 points per game and sophomore Sammie Sproul averages 12.4 points per game.
