NIACC women improve to 2-0

WAPHETON, N.D. - Six players scored in double figures and the No. 9 NIACC women's basketball team topped Williston State College (N.D.) 98-77 on Saturday afternoon.
Sammie Sproul scored a team-best 18 points, and Courtney Larson and Trudy Peterson each added 15 for the 2-0 Lady Trojans.
Morgan Cuffe (12), Savannah Lentz (11) and Anna Eckert (11) also reached double figures.
NIACC led 42-39 at halftime but played much better over the final 20 minutes.
"In the second half, we came out and played full-court man and really suffocated them," NIACC coach Todd Ciochetto said.
NIACC received 35 points from its bench.
The Lady Trojans host second-ranked Illinois Central on Friday at 6 p.m. in their home opener.
