No. 19 NIACC women top No. 13 DMACC, 64-52
MASON CITY - The No. 19 NIACC women's basketball team topped No. 13 DMACC 64-52 for its fourth straight win Wednesday night in the NIACC gym.
It's the third straight contest that NIACC has held its opponents to less than 60 points. The Lady Trojans are 7-0 this season when holding opponents less than 60 points.
NIACC (16-10 overall, 8-3 in the ICCAC) trailed 30-24 at the half but outscored the Bears 40-22 over the final two quarters.
NIACC and Iowa Central are tied for second in the ICCAC with 83 marks. Iowa Central stopped Iowa Lakes 89-66 in its ICCAC contest Wednesday.
Sophomore Savannah Lentz led NIACC with 19 points, including four 3-point goals. Sophomore Sammie Sproul scored 14 points with seven rebounds, seven steals and four assists.
Lentz increased her school-best 3-point goal total to 147.
Also for NIACC, Sam Adamich scored 10 points with six rebounds. Diamond Miller led the Lady Trojans with nine rebounds.
DMACC was led by sophomore London Vais with 19 points.
NIACC returns to action Saturday at home against Southeastern in its final home regular season contest.
