NIACC's Sproul earns NJCAA Division II player of week honor
MASON CITY - NIACC's Sammie Sproul has been named the NJCAA Division II women's basketball player of the week on Wednesday.
The Lady Trojans opened their season with a 76-51 win over North Dakota State College of Science before beating Williston State 98-77.
Sproul, a transfer from Marshalltown CC, scored 10 points with six rebounds, five assists and five steals in the win over NDSCS. She scored 18 points with seven rebounds, five assists and nine steals in the win over Williston State.
The former Waterloo West prep also was 4 of 10 from 3-point range in the two victories.
Sproul was also selected as the ICCAC women's player of the week on Tuesday.
No. 9 NIACC (2-0) hosts No. 2 Illinois Central on Friday at 6 p.m.
