NIACC women begin ICCAC play Saturday
MASON CITY - The NIACC women's basketball team faces Iowa Central at 1 p.m. Saturday in the ICCAC opener for both teams.
Game time is set for 1 p.m. in the NIACC gym.
NIACC (8-7 overall) dropped a 63-53 decision to Iowa Western on Monday. Iowa Central (5-3) topped the Grand View Junior Varsity 95-82 on Tuesday.
NIACC is led by sophomore Trudy Peterson, who averages 16.5 points per game. Sophomore Sammie Sproul averages 11.9 points per game for the Lady Trojans.
Peterson has 50 3-point goals, which leads the ICCAC. Sproul leads the league with 58 steals.
NIACC and Iowa Central split two games a year ago. NIACC won 106-90 in Fort Dodge and the Tritons won 89-85 in Mason City.
In other ICCAC games Saturday, Kirkwood plays at Iowa Lakes, Southeastern plays at Ellsworth and Southwestern plays at DMACC.
