NIACC's Sproul earns ICCAC player of week honor
MASON CITY - NIACC sophomore guard Sammie Sproul has been selected as the co-ICCAC women's basketball player of the week for the week of Jan. 11-19.
Sproul shares the weekly honor with Iowa Central's Anna Yung.
Sproul scored 16 points with four assists, four rebounds and three steals against Southwestern on Jan. 13. She scored 35 points, including 10 3-point goals, with seven rebounds, four assists and two steals against Ellsworth on Jan. 16.
It's the second time this season that Sproul has been honored by the ICCAC. She was also the ICCAC and national player of the week for the week of Oct. 26-Nov. 1.
Sproul averages 13.2 points per game (8th in ICCAC). She also has 65 steals (1st in ICCAC) and 65 assists (6th in ICCAC).
Sproul, who played her freshman season at Marshalltown CC, has 535 career points, 219 career rebounds, 209 career assists and 133 career steals.
NIACC (10-8 overall, 2-1 in the ICCAC) returns to action Wednesday at DMACC in an ICCAC contest. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m. in Boone.
