NIACC's Miller selected as ICCAC player of the week
MASON CITY - NIACC sophomore Diamond Miller was selected as the ICCAC women's basketball player of the week for the week of Feb. 1-7.
Miller scored a career-high 23 points with nine rebounds in the Lady Trojans' 85-66 victory over Iowa Central last Saturday.
Miller is the third NIACC women's player to earn league player of the week honors this season. Trudy Peterson was the league player of the week for the week of Nov. 16-22 and Sammie Sproul was the league's player of the week for the week of Oct. 26-Nov. 1 and was the co-player of the week for the week of Jan. 11-17.
Miller, who averages 8.3 points and 6.0 rebounds per game, has 302 career rebounds. She is the first NIACC women's player to have 300 career rebounds since Lateeka Thompson and Morgan Walker both collected over 300 rebounds from 2012-14.
NIACC (13-10 overall, 5-3 in the ICCAC) returns to action tonight at home against Southwestern (7-13, 2-7). Game time is set for 5:30 p.m. in the NIACC gym.
