Trojans ranked 15th in latest poll
- Trojans move up 2 spot to No. 15
- Trojans return to action at Kirkwood Classic
MASON CITY - The NIACC women's basketball team is ranked No. 15 in the first NJCAA Division II poll released Monday.
NIACC (4-0 overall) was ranked No. 17 in the preseason poll released on Oct. 20.
Johnson County CC (5-0) is ranked No. 1 and Kirkwood (2-0) is ranked No. 2. DMACC (3-0) is ranked No. 22.
NIACC picked up a pair of wins on Nov. 8-9 at the Lake Region State College Classic in Devils Lake, N.D. The Trojans topped host Lake Region State College 73-56 and stopped Williston State College 71-67.
NIACC opened the season with a pair of wins at the Konigsmark Klassic on Oct. 31-Nov. 1. The Trojans rolled to a 101-36 win over Blackhawk Technical College and cruised to a 92-58 win over Elgin CC.
The Trojans return to action Friday and Saturday at the Kirkwood Classic in Cedar Rapids. They face Bryant & Stratton (Wis.) at 5 p.m. on Friday and play the Mount Mercy University Junior Varsity at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
