Trojans' Spotts earns ICCAC POW award again
- Spotts wins ICCAC weekly award for 2nd straight week
- It is the 5th straight week a NIACC player has been honored
MASON CITY - For the second straight week and the fourth time this season, NIACC sophomore Reggi Spotts has been selected as the ICCAC women's basketball player of the week for the week of Jan. 26-Feb. 1.
Spotts, who won the award once last season, also won the award in the 2025-26 season for the weeks of Nov. 3-9, 2025, Dec. 15-21, 2025 and Jan. 19-25, 2026.
It is the fifth straight week that a NIACC women's basketball player has been honored as the ICCAC player of the week. NIACC's Ciara Seifert won the award for the weeks of Dec. 22-Jan. 4, Jan. 5-11 and Jan. 12-18.
Spotts shared this week's award with DMACC's Whitney Jensen and Iowa Lakes' Zoey Wooten.
Last week in wins over Southeastern CC and Northeast CC, Spotts totaled 53 points, 11 rebounds, 12 assists, five steals and made 10 3-pointers.
Against Southeastern, Spotts scored 23 points in a 46-point victory (99-53).
Against Northeast CC, Spotts scored a career-best 30 points with eight assists, four rebounds and three steals in a 72-66 victory.
Spotts has 852 career points, which ranks 13th on the school's all-time scoring list.
This season, Spotts is averaging 18.6 points per game (3rd in the ICCAC) and has 51 3-point goals (2nd in ICCAC), 69 steals (3rd in ICCAC) and 69 assists (7th in ICCAC).
No. 9 NIACC (20-2 overall, 14-2 in the ICCAC) puts its 10-game winning streak on the line in a home game Saturday against Iowa Western (13-8, 10-5). Game time in the NIACC gym is slated for 1 p.m.
