NIACC's Seifert wins ICCAC weekly award for 3rd straight week
- Seifert collected 22 rebounds in win over Northeast CC
- Seifert one of 2 players in ICCAC averaging a double/double
MASON CITY - For the third straight week, NIACC freshman Ciara Seifert has been selected as the ICCAC women's basketball player of the week.
Seifert was selected as the league's player of the week for the week of Jan. 12-18. Seifert shared the award with Central CC-Columbus' Lexi Fiscus and Iowa Western's Aniyah Howard.
Seifert, who has won award four times this season, was also honored by the league during the weeks of Dec. 22-Jan. 4 and Jan. 5-11.
Seifert is the first NIACC student-athlete to win the ICCAC weekly award three straight weeks since the Trojans' female golfer Meghan DeLong won the award three straight weeks in the fall of 2024.
Last week, Seifert was instrumental in two wins for the No. 13 Trojans over Iowa Central and No. 25 Northeast CC.
Against Iowa Central, Seifert scored 10 points with eight rebounds in a 76-69 win at Fort Dodge.
Against Northeast CC, the Rochester, Minn. native scored 17 points and collected a career-high 22 rebounds in a 71-64 home win. The 22 rebounds is the most by a NIACC player this centrury and ranks third on the school's all-time single game list.
Seifert leads the ICCAC in rebounding - averaging 11.4 rebounds per game. She averages 11.3 points per game, which ranks 13th in the ICCAC.
Seifert is one of two players in the ICCAC to average a double/double. The other is Iowa Central's Trista Ohlmeier, who averages 13.7 points per game and 10.9 rebounds per contest.
It is the sixth time this season that a NIACC women's basketball player has been honored by the ICCAC. Sophomore guard Reggi Spotts won the award twice during the week's of Nov. 3-9, 2025 and Dec. 15-21, 2025.
NIACC (16-2 overall, 10-2 in the ICCAC) puts its six-game winning streak on the line this week with a pair of road games. The Trojans play at Ellsworth on Wednesday and play No. 5 Kirkwood on Saturday.
