No. 15 Trojans cruise, 100-34
CEDAR RAPIDS - The NIACC women's basketball team moved its record to 6-0 with a 100-34 victory over the Mount Mercy University Junior Varsity on Saturday at the Kirkwood Classic.
NIACC led 49-17 at the half and cruised to the 66-point victory. It is the second time this season the Trojans have eclipsed the 100-point mark as they opened the season with a 101-36 win over Blackhawk Technical College at the annual Konigsmark Klassic.
The Trojans are 6-0 for the first time since the 2019-20 season.
In Saturday's win over the Mount Mercy University Junior Varsity, freshman Ciara Seifert led the Trojans with 18 points, including 11 points in the third quarter.
Also for the Trojans, sophomore Reggi Spotts scored 13 points, freshman Peyton Meincke scored 12 points and freshman Zaria Falls scored 11 points.
NIACC opens play in the ICCAC on Nov. 22 at home against Marshalltown CC. Game time in the NIACC gym is slated for 1 p.m.
