No. 11 Trojans stop Reivers, 66-58
COUNCIL BLUFFS - The No. 11 NIACC women's basketball team topped Iowa Western 66-58 in an ICCAC contest Saturday afternoon,
NIACC (9-1 overall, 3-1 in the ICCAC) has now won four straight contests against the Reivers. The Trojans won all three meetings against the Reivers in the 2025-26 season, including a win in the regional tournament.
Sophomore Reggi Spotts led the Trojans with 19 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals. Freshman Zaria Falls scored 13 points with four rebounds and one assist.
Spotts now has 613 career points, which ranks 35th on the school's career scoring list. On Saturday, Spotts passed UU Longs (2016-18), who now ranks 36th with 611 career points.
NIACC's Peyton Meincke scored 10 points and Ciara Seifert scored eight points. Meincke and Seifert both collected eight rebounds.
In her first action of the season, freshman Tillie Smith scored two points with seven rebounds and two assists.
NIACC led 11-9 after the first quarter and outscored the Reivers 19-11 in the second quarter to take a 30-20 lead at the half.
Iowa Western (5-4, 2-1) was led by Aniiyah Howard and Sydney Donaldson with 12 points apiece.
NIACC returns to action Wednesday at home against Ellsworth (6-4, 2-2). Game time in the NIACC gym is slated for 5:30 p.m.
